David Schwimmer confirms he is not dating Jennifer Aniston

In May, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer revealed in “Friends: The Reunion” that they had fallen in love with each other even though they never started a romantic relationship.

After Closer newspaper reported that the two stars were romantically involved, the 54-year-old actor’s representative confirmed to The Sun that he and Jennifer Aniston were not romantically involved as many had speculated.

Back in May, HBO Max’s “Friends: The Reunion” revealed a secret real-life romance between Aniston and Schwimmer, who played lovebirds Rachel Green and Ross Geller on the hit comedy series. Host James Corden asked the cast if any of them had developed feelings for each other in real life.

When Aniston pressed Schwimmer to answer the question, the actor admitted that he had a crush on her: “There was a time when we had feelings for each other. But it was like two trains passing each other because we never crossed the line. We respected each other.”

“Actually, I remember saying to David, ‘ If the first time we kissed was on national television, I think it would be really disappointing. Of course, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop,'” the 52-year-old actress added. Instead of acting on emotion, Aniston explained that they “translated” everything into the characters.

Schwimmer was previously married to Zoe Buckman, with whom he has a 10-year-old daughter, Cleo. They divorced in 2017. As for Aniston, she married Brad Pitt in 2000 and divorced him in 2005. She then married Justin Theroux, the couple split in 2018 after more than two years of marriage and nearly seven years together.

While chatting with former “Friends” co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” in June, Aniston once again said she and Schwimmer never showed their affection for each other.

“Our relationship was always at the wrong time and it never worked out. The beauty of our relationship is that whatever emotion we had, we transferred into the characters of Ross and Rachel. I think that’s probably part of what made the movie work. But in real life, we’re not together. Courteney and Lisa know that. They can confirm that for me.”

The actress also joked: “If this happened, I would probably hit Schwimmer. But the truth is, we don’t love each other.”
