Dakota Johnson Reveals Why Nude Scenes Are Surprisingly ‘Fun’

The female lead of the film adapted from the erotic novel “50 Shades of Grey” believes that performing “hot” scenes is necessary but risky, like taking a gamble.

The movie Fifty Shades Darker is being heavily promoted before its release in February. Recently, the movie’s main actress – Dakota Johnson – participated in an interview with Vogue , sharing about the “hot” scenes she performed with co-star Jamie Dornan.

The 27-year-old actress believes that for an actress, doing nude scenes is very interesting. According to her, stripping down for the “hot” scene between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in 50 Shades of Grey was necessary. “I don’t want to see someone wearing underwear in a sex scene. Let’s face it. Everyone is naked when they do it,” Dakota said.

The actress shared that she and Jamie Dornan have worked together for a long time, so it was easy for them to act out bed scenes honestly, trusting each other and without any restraint.

“But making those films is like a gamble, very easy to fail. When filming sex scenes, there is no makeup, no clothes to give the audience a little clue about the story, and even less jewelry to give the audience a clue about the character’s social status. Everything is focused on acting,” the actor said.

Asked if she plans to go nude on screen in another film once Fifty Shades ends, Dakota Johnson said: “Will I stop doing sex scenes when my boobs start to sag? I don’t know.”

The two main actors of the film acted in many hot scenes together.

Fifty Shades Darker was written by EL James. It was directed by 63-year-old James Foley. Kim Basinger plays a supporting role. The soundtrack is I Don’t Wanna Live Forever, performed by Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik.

In early 2015, the 17+ film Fifty Shades of Grey , directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, grossed $571 million. Thanks to the film’s success, Universal decided to make two more parts. Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled to hit theaters on February 10, on Valentine’s Day.
