Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan were their usual awkward selves Sunday when they presented together at the Oscars. It was a familiar and lovely sight, and for a second, it was almost as if they were sending fans and haters alike a secret message: We know you’re going to criticize our chemistry, so here we are to fuck with you. Before announcing that the folks from La La Land had won the Academy Award for Best Production Design, Dakota got her flirt on, telling the man with the beautiful scruff that he looked “familiar.”
After a brief exchange of giggles, Jamie mumbled back to Dakota, “I’m sure I do.” Then his hot voice blessed the crowd in a pre-recorded roll call of the nominees.

It’s awkward at its finest, but for Jamie and Dakota, it’s just another day in Hollywood, a land where every single movement, pitch, and eye roll is analyzed in a rinse and repeat cycle. There’s really nothing to freak out over here. If you do need to freak out over something/anything these two did at the Oscars, then please stand up and give Jamie a round of applause for being a true gentleman when he offered his arm to Dakota as they made their way to the microphone.
