Chicago Fire Season 13 Casts Boden’s Replacement As Firehouse 51’s New Chief

Chicago Fire season 13 has officially found its Chief Wallace Boden replacement for Firehouse 51. Eammon Walker was the very first actor cast when Dick Wolf and NBC decided to expand the producer’s TV franchise to the Windy City. Unlike the departures of Blake Gallo and Sylvie Brett, Boden’s departure in the Chicago Fire season 12 finale was announced towards the year’s end, surprising many. However, work for Firehouse 51 continues. Instead of following Boden’s plan, which was to make Christopher Hermann his replacement, Wolf Entertainment is going a different route.

Per DeadlineChicago Fire season 13 has cast Dermot Mulroney as Dom Pascal, Firehouse 51’s new chief and Boden’s replacement. Previously, it was already reported that One Chicago was looking to cast a new character for the first-responder series. Pascal is described as a cheerful person who works well under pressure. However, his leadership style is different from Boden’s. He supposedly started his career in Chicago but spent the last several years in Miami before moving back. In terms of his personal life, Pascal is estranged from his wife.

How Dermont Mulroney’s Dom Pascal Will Impact Firehouse 51

Firehouse 51 Is Set In Their Ways, Which Boden Supported During His Term

Firehouse 51 has survived various political attacks while also dealing with internal conflicts, and a big part of that was because of Boden’s leadership.

As a long-term member of the team, Boden didn’t really want to leave in the Chicago Fire season 12 finale. He was forced to do so following a threat to the organization, and a dangerous call changed his mind about joining the elections, which he eventually won. Initially, Boden wanted Kelly Severide to replace him because he was ranking officer while Boden was away. That said, the former Firehouse 51 leader changed his mind and picked Hermann instead. Understandably, he wanted his successor to be someone from Firehouse 51 knowing how tight-knit his former team was.

While Hermann won’t climb the CFD ladder, at the very least, it sounds like Pascal is well-qualified for his job. However, what’s concerning right now is how he supposedly has a different leadership style than Boden. Chicago Fire has seen so many cast departures over the years. Firehouse 51 has survived various political attacks while also dealing with internal conflicts, and a big part of that was because of Boden’s leadership. Severide, Hermann, and the rest have a set process at work that their old leader supported. Changing that with Pascal could result in drama in Chicago Fire season 13.

Ultimately, how Pascal gets along with Firehouse 51 will dictate how long he will be with the team. Although he is Boden’s replacement now, it doesn’t mean that he will be in the long run. If push comes to shove, the squad can seek help from Boden, who is going to have more power in the organization when Chicago Fire returns after the summer break.
