When Severide isn’t leading Rescue Squad 3, however, he tends to work with the Department’s Office of Fire Investigation (OFI). In Chicago Fire season 8, he was offered a temporary position as an investigator with the OFI because of his knack for the job. Despite that, Severide has maintained that he has no plans of leaving Firehouse 51, although that doesn’t stop him from putting on his fire cop hat every once in a while.
