Blue Bloods Season 13 Episode 19 Review: Fire Drill

Blue Bloods Season 13 Episode 19 Review: Fire Drill

An anti-cop protester almost messed up Eddie’s career with a lie, and Frank didn’t think he could do anything about it because he and Eddie both wanted him to act with integrity.

If Henry hadn’t come to the rescue on Blue Bloods Season 13 Episode 19, that protester might have gotten away with forcing Eddie off the streets when she hadn’t done anything wrong. But did this situation have to go down like this in the first place?

Blue Bloods Season 13 Episode 19 Review: Fire Drill - TV Fanatic

The incident happened in part because the police were too afraid of being seen as useless to respond to anti-police protesters.

Everyone has the right to peacefully protest against the police or anyone else. But throwing bottles and shoving people is not a form of peaceful protest. Had Eddie not told the other officer to ignore someone throwing a bottle at him and trying to walk away, the situation might have been different.

The protester who shoved Eddie had an agenda of her own. She deliberately pushed a cop, dared Eddie to shoot her, and rolled around dramatically on the ground to make it appear that Eddie was hurting her.

When are we going to take a stand and say enough is enough? Every cop is not a short fuse waiting to be lit.

Where was that other cop? Civilians filmed that incident from their point of view, but he stood back and did nothing. At the very least, he should have come forward as a witness to what happened between Eddie and that woman.

As Henry said, the woman’s behavior was an Oscar-worthy performance; it also should have alerted the cops at the scene that this arrestee would cause trouble.

The woman faked many injuries and made one complaint after another, hoping that something would stick. Could the cops have headed this off at the pass by having her checked out for her supposed injuries post-arrest?

It probably won’t make a difference, but I’d love to see the look on her face if they call the EMT over to the scene to check on her. That should have ended her scam before it started.

The more important problem is the one that Sid pointed out. Somewhere, the police are so afraid to reinforce any part of the anti-police protesters’ beliefs about them that they begin to let them out of the way.

That policy makes no sense at all. Being a police officer shouldn’t be a political job where the opinion of others is more important than enforcing the law. On the other hand, anti-police protesters can dictate how police behave. That’s how the mayhem lies.

I also want to know what the demonstration is about. The police are there to make sure things don’t get out of hand — not because they’re effective — but the protesters seem to be random people angry at the police for some unknown reason. .

Proponents of police reform should not want people like that violent protester to join their movement. It gives them a bad name and makes people doubt their goals.

When incidents like this happen, the police blame the protesters for inciting, while the protesters accuse the police of planting people among them to disrupt the demonstration. This effectively stops all dialogue and interferes with the other party’s ability to hear.

But much of that isn’t what this episode is about. After the incident, Eddie and Frank start doing this weird dance where Eddie wants him to knock her down hard to prove that he won’t be soft-hearted, and that he wants to follow the rules of the letter. and there’s no way to stand up for her.

It felt like their integrity was being used against them. Fortunately, Henry had no qualms about using subterfuge to get proof that the protester was making up stories about being seriously injured.

Meanwhile, a fire at the NYPD warehouse has devastated people’s ability to keep criminals behind bars where they belong. Erin and Anthony immerse themselves in cases that need a new angle, while Danny must find another way to prove a gang leader.

Danny: I should have foreseen that.
Baez: It’s not up to you to do Lopez.
Danny: I should have prepared the statement. Put him on federal protection or something.
Baez: They can still catch him.
Danny: What excites me is that Rodriguez is free to move around. He acts as if he is above the law. I’m starting to think he is.

Given that one of the beneficiaries of the case was a gang boss who didn’t think twice before ordering anyone who could charge him, it’s odd that the fire had nothing to do with he. Instead, it was a disgruntled employee with the stupid idea of lighting a fire and then putting it out to get a promotion.

I find it hard to believe that Rodriguez, an expert at covering his tracks, was simply lucky, and there is no connection between him and the arson.

With Jamie at the helm of that case, I assume Danny would assume there was such a connection and pressure his brother to prove it. Surprisingly, this time the two investigations were completely separate.

It’s OK; we don’t need another Danny vs Jamie fight in this high stakes case.

Danny uses himself as bait, causing him to meet Rodriguez directly. But he was foolish to think this was over.

Rodriguez’s comment that he picked the wrong man to take down Danny served as a warning. He might try to catch him again, especially now that Danny caught him just as he was about to be released.

Usually, these things don’t happen immediately, but I assume Rodriguez will cause trouble for Danny and his family at some point in Blue Bloods Season 14.

Anthony’s determination to catch is interesting. There was a similar case on East New York Season 1 Episode 12, again emphasizing how great it would be if these two series had a crossover episode.

I’m not sure how Anthony went from Erin’s encouragement to setting up a sting, but I knew he would suddenly show up for the arrest right at the start.
