In an interview with Bustle , Dakota Johnson spoke candidly about Marvel ‘s new film in collaboration with Sony, Madame Web . Accordingly, the actress was quite calm when admitting that the film was a screen disaster of 2024.
“Unfortunately, I’m not surprised that things turned out this bad,” Dakota shared, “However, making this film was definitely an experience for me because I’ve never done anything like this before.”
Speaking further about the superhero genre, the Fifty Shades star was hesitant about returning to a similar project. “I probably would never do anything like that again because I don’t fit into that world. I know that now,” the actress continued. “Sometimes in this business, you go into a project and when you’re done, it turns into something completely different and you can’t believe it.”
“But it was a real learning experience. And of course, it’s not cool to be a part of something that’s being torn to pieces,” Dakota Johnson said, looking quite disappointed.
Not stopping there, the Hollywood beauty continued to blame the film studio system for the way the film project was produced, which had a negative impact on Madame Web .
Madame Web marked the lowest opening in the history of Sony’s Spider-Man universe. The film also became one of the worst openings for a film based on a Marvel comic book character. In addition to being a financial failure, Madame Web also received a series of negative reviews and harsh criticism from critics and audiences.
