Marla Gibbs, Iconic Star of The Jeffersons, Set to Make Special Guest Appearance on Grey’s Anatomy’s Upcoming Season

According to reports, Marla Gibbs, 91, will have a guest role on “Grey’s Anatomy” for Season 19. The upcoming season will reportedly introduce a new group of surgical interns, giving viewers a chance to get to know them and their families.

 

Marla Gibbs has been cast in a multi-episode guest arc as Joyce Ward, the grandmother of one of the new residents, Simone Griffith, portrayed by Alexis Floyd, 28. “Grey’s Anatomy” fans will first see Marla Gibbs’ during the second episode of the upcoming season.

 

Alexis Floyd’s character is described as a funny high achiever who has a complicated family dynamic. Reportedly, Gibbs’ role will help shed light on personal issues Alexis Floyd’s character has with the Grey Sloan Hospital and why she doesn’t want to work there.

 

 

As you may already know, Gibbs is no stranger to the entertainment world. She’s most known for her roles on the hit TV shows “The Jeffersons” and “227.” However, she has been acting professionally since the early 1970s and, in addition to her countless TV appearances, Gibbs’ resume also features many notable film projects such as; “Foolish,” “The Brothers,” and “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.”
