Gordon Ramsay cheekily corrected Mark Brundle’s claim that he wasn’t invited to the star chef’s Miami Grand Prix restaurant. F1 fanatic Ramsay attended the race after jetting in from London, having attended David Beckham’s 50th birthday party on Saturday.
The 58-year-old has two restaurants in the Florida city – Lucky Cat Miami and Hell’s Kitchen Miami – with both providing a luxury dining experience from pop-up outlets over the weekend. But it seems F1 royalty Brundle didn’t receive an invite.
During his pre-race grid walk, Ramsay was one of the VIP guests tracked down by the Sky Sports legend. Brundle brought up Ramsay’s on-site eateries, jokingly saying: “I didn’t manage to come round and try any of your food out in the paddock. I’m not sure I’ve been invited, actually.”
A smiling Ramsay, standing alongside comedian Jack Whitehall, put his pal straight, replying: “You’re invited anytime, you know that. The food’s very good indeed. We’ve got a little tiny pop-up place.”
As for his race prediction, Ramsay proved to be spot on, correctly forecasting another win for championship leader Oscar Piastri. He said: “I think Oscar’s got this one. Lando’s looking strong but Max’s back in front [on pole].”

There was an awkward moment earlier in the grid walk when Brundle congratulated Conor Benn on his fight with Chris Eubank Jr, despite losing their thrilling bout on points. Brundle said: “What a boxing match that was, what a result, congratulations.”
Benn did not react to the mistake, simply replying: “Thank you, I appreciate that.” He added: “Although it was a great fight I didn’t get the W [win] which I came for so hopefully we can run it back in September and I can make amends.”
Piastri took advantage of Max Verstappen and Lando Norris’s clash at the first corner. After Norris dropped down the field, Piastri, who started fourth, eventually breached Verstappen’s aggressive defensive tactics and quickly pulled away. The Australian was reeled in by Norris in the closing stages but the Englishman had too much to do, trailing his team-mate by 4.6 seconds at the finish.
