Bryce Dallas Howard – The Talented Heir Who Made Even Ron Howard Take His Hat Off!

At the 50th AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Francis Ford Coppola event held on April 26 in Los Angeles, Hollywood legend Ron Howard shared his proud – and honest – thoughts about his daughter, the talented actress and director Bryce Dallas Howard.

Ron, 71, revealed to PEOPLE that he and Bryce have a lot in common when it comes to filmmaking, but admitted that his daughter has “surpassed” him in terms of leadership and directing ability.

“She works differently than I do. We have a lot of similar artistic sensibilities, but the way Bryce leads a team to find the best story is really outstanding,” Ron couldn’t hide his pride.

The Da Vinci Code director also affirmed:

“I used to think of myself as a good collaborator and team leader, but Bryce takes that concept to a whole new level. She is very strong, has a clear opinion, and is not afraid to challenge even the ideas of the studio.”

Although she started her career as an actress – famous for her role as Claire Dearing in the Jurassic World series – Bryce Dallas Howard quickly proved her talent as a director. She has left her mark with a series of blockbuster projects such as The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Skeleton Crew, and the animal documentary Pets on Disney+.

Not only is she a prestigious heir to the Howard family in the entertainment industry, Bryce is showing that she has more than enough ability to create a brilliant cinematic legacy of her own.
