Hailey Bieber is just like us!
During the Daily Front Row’s 9th Annual Fashion Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, April 24, the Rhode founder was honored with the Beauty Innovator Award, presented by hairstylist and OUAI co-founder Jen Atkin. While presenting the award to the model, Atkin revealed Bieber’s true passion: Grey’s Anatomy.
“Tonight, I’m going to do something that I’ve never done before,” Atkin said. “I’m going to break my NDA — I’m sorry — to spill a big secret. The real drama behind closed doors and what really gets her heated is old Grey’s Anatomy episodes. I’m talking season one through four, she’s obsessed.”
“I kind of wish Ellen Pompeo was here today with us,” she noted of Pompeo, who plays Grey’s Anatomy’s titular character.
Luckily for Bieber, Pompeo is already a fan of her. In 2023, the actress took to Instagram to show off her collection of new Rhode products.
“So I was trying to be Mom of the Year, or Mom of the Week or something, to the 14-year-old who’s so embarrassed right now,” Pompeo began. “And so I was like, ‘Oh, let me get her something super cool and then she’ll think I’m cool,’ and, you know, I’m just trying to stay cool, right? So look what I did.”
The mom of three then held up a box decorated with the Rhode logo and asked her teen if she was ready to see what was inside.
“She thought I was on the PR list and I just got it sent to me. That would make me a cool mom,” Pompeo joked. “But when she found out that I just went online and ordered it like everybody else, my stock dropped, yo. It dropped.”
When she handed her daughter the package, which contained all four shades of the brand’s peptide lip tints, Pompeo poked fun at herself.
“So we’re gonna wait for the review, but so far the update is I’m not cool ‘cause I’m not on the Rhode PR list,” she teased. “Hailey, are you listening?”

Pompeo went on to praise Bieber’s brand for its “beautiful” packaging. “Good job, Hailey,” she exclaimed.
“Listen, who even knows if there is a PR list,” Pompeo added. “Do you know how popular she is? She may not need to give anybody anything for free.”
The video almost immediately caught the attention of Bieber, who commented: “*adds Ellen to PR list immediately.”
“LOVE U SO MUCH!!!!!!” the founder added.
