Jennifer Aniston breaks down in tears after surprise Icon Award win

Jennifer Aniston was in tears when she was honored with the Icon award at the People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles on the evening of November 10.

Jennifer Aniston was presented with a special People’s Choice Award for her contribution to the film industry. The 50-year-old actress was moved when her close co-star Adam Sandler called her name on stage at the awards ceremony and gave her sweet words. “She’s one of my best friends, a great role model and a big heart. I really love this girl and I love the movies I’ve made with her,” Adam Sandler said.

Receiving the icon in her hand, Jennifer Aniston choked up but still shared humorously: “As actors, we don’t make movies for critics, for each other or to make our families proud. We do this for money. I’m kidding! We really do this for you!”.

Jennifer paid tribute to the Friends series that made her name and thanked her close co-stars: “If I say something about the word ‘iconic’, I can only say that I was able to participate in an iconic show with an iconic cast and have iconic hair. I mean, Friends was truly the gift of a lifetime. I wouldn’t be standing here without that amazing show. It paved the way for all my other opportunities.”
