Tom Selleck’s Next Big Move After Blue Bloods: New Project and Possible Cameo Revealed
After bidding farewell to Blue Bloods in December 2024, Tom Selleck is already back in the spotlight with an exciting new project. The beloved actor, who spent 14 seasons as Frank Reagan on the hit CBS show, is set to star in an upcoming Jesse Stone TV movie, with the title currently listed as Untitled Jesse Stone Project.
According to Selleck’s IMDb, the film is in development, though details about the plot remain under wraps. What is known, however, is that the film will continue the Jesse Stone series based on Robert B. Parker’s novels. In the film, Tom’s character, Paradise Police Chief Jesse Stone, finds himself caught up in a mysterious death—possibly a murder—while grappling with his own personal doubts and frustrations. This marks his first project since the end of Blue Bloods, which concluded after 14 successful seasons in December 2024.
While Selleck transitions into his next role, there’s still a lingering connection to his Blue Bloods days. CBS has announced the spin-off series Boston Blue, which will star Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan in a Boston-based extension of the Blue Bloods universe. There has been speculation that Tom might make an appearance, and sources close to the actor have hinted that he’s open to the idea. According to insiders, Tom is interested in a potential cameo, especially after the emotional farewell with his Blue Bloods family.
One source shared, “Donnie was one of the first people to reach out to Tom after landing the Boston Blue spinoff. He assured Tom that there’s a place for him to make appearances, whether it’s for a cameo or something more substantial.” The bond between the two co-stars remains strong, and it’s clear that the door is open for Tom to return in some capacity.
