Jai Rodriguez, best known as part of the fab five from the original Bravo reality series, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, is heading to Genoa City and The Young and the Restless.
According to US Weekly, Rodriguez will play the role of Pietro, who is said to be a sought-after and well-known party planner when he guest stars on the CBS daytime drama series. The character of Pietro will appear in four episodes of the top-rated soap opera when he is asked by the Newman Family to help put together Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) birthday party.
Viewers can look for Rodriguez to first appear on the May 28th episode of Y&R. This is not Jai’s first rodeo with the soaps. Previously, he appeared on All My Children in 1993, One Life to Live in 2005, Days of our Lives in 2012 and The Bold and the Beautiful in 2016.
Those who first saw Jai on ‘Queer Eye’ know that along with the OG members: Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley, Kyan Douglas and Ted Allen, Rodriguez was the one in the group who would serve up pop culture to their subjects as well as advice on relationships since he was known as the social interaction expert while earning himself the nickname the “Culture Vulture.”
The original version of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy aired in 2003 and after five seasons ended its run in 2007. The reboot of the series came in 2018 with a brand new cast, and the series has now been going strong on Netflix for nine seasons.
Rodriguez pursued acting opportunities after the end of original “Queer Eye” and appeared in a recurring role in the Kit Williamson and Van Hansis (Lucas,GH)-led LGBTQ+ digital drama, EastSiders. In addition, Jai scored roles and made appearances in the TV series: Uncoupled, Grey’s Anatomy, Dollface, The Resident, and The Rookie among others.
