For some reason, it always comes as a shock to learn that two seemingly random celebrities are friends with each other, as if Hollywood is not known for being a pretty small community. The latest platonic celebrity pairing to surprise fans is Dakota Johnson and Jeremy Allen White: the best talk show interviewee of all time and the internet’s obsession anytime The Bear drops a new season (which literally happened today, June 27).
But these two aren’t just casual acquaintances who enjoy a beach day together here and there; Johnson is literally the godmother of White’s daughters, Ezer Billie and Dolores Wild. So, how are these two actors connected aside from their shared interests in acting and being hot? Johnson is “best friends” with Allen’s ex-wife Addison Timlin, who has been sharing photos of Johnson on Instagram since 2016 (though their friendship likely dates back even further).
“Happy birthday to my bright and shiny and to Ezer and Dolly’s godmother,” Timlin wrote in a gushing tribute to Johnson in 2021. “We love you so much, thanks for being born and raising kids with me it’s the best.”
Clearly, White and Johnson have maintained their friendship despite his split from Timlin in May 2023 after nearly four years of marriage. Despite their relatively short years as husband and wife, the pair first met when they were just 14 years old in 2006. White is currently said to be linked to Spanish superstar Rosalía.
