This NCIS: LA Character Set to Appear in Dramatic NCIS: ORIGINS Season Finale

In the NCIS: ORIGINS Season 1 finale, fans will see a familiar face from NCIS: Los Angeles. Lara Macy, a former Military Police investigator, will appear in ORIGINS as part of the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles.

Macy was initially introduced in NCIS: Los Angeles Season 6, portrayed by Louise Lombard, but was later replaced by Linda Hunt’s character, Henrietta “Hetty” Lange. In ORIGINS, Macy will be played by Claire Berger, who brings a new dimension to the character. Macy is described as an “ambitious investigator with sharp instincts and a relentless drive for justice,” eager to advance her career and challenge the traditional norms of her male-dominated field.

In her ORIGINS appearance, Macy will be faced with a tough decision related to the actions of Pedro Hernandez, whose crimes lead Gibbs to seek vengeance for the deaths of his wife Shannon and daughter Kelly.

Claire Berger, known for her roles in Ex-BFF, The Midnight Club, and Mind, Body & Soul, takes on this iconic role for the ORIGINS finale.

The first season of NCIS: ORIGINS has been notably darker and more intense compared to its predecessors. The opening two-part episode follows a young Jethro Gibbs on his first day at NIS (the Naval Investigative Service, which became NCIS in 1992). Grieving the tragic loss of his family, Gibbs is thrust into a high-stakes investigation when a body is discovered in a burned house.

The show’s tone is more serious, with critics pointing out a shiftaway from the lighthearted moments seen in other NCIS series. The darker elements of ORIGINS include more mature content, such asreferences to drug abuse, occultism, and strong language, offering a grittier edge to the traditional NCIS format.

Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment, explained that while NCIS: ORIGINS keeps the essence of the franchise, it adds a fresh, serialized element that distinguishes it from other NCIS shows. With its more intense storytelling and mature themes, ORIGINS aims to captivate both longtime fans and new viewers.

NCIS: ORIGINS continues to explore deeper, more complex storylines, pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the franchise.
