Happy Anniversary, GH!
The April 1, 2025 episode of General Hospital gave us several reasons to celebrate! Not only did it mark the soap’s 62nd anniversary, but they honored Monica with a new cardiac wing, and surprised viewers with the announcement of the 2025 Nurses Ball!
62 Years Young
The special anniversary episode featured Port Charles favorites old and new. Along with vets like Laura (Genie Francis), Sonny (Maurice Benard), Tracy (Jane Elliot), and Felicia (Kristina Wagner), the anniversary was celebrated with newer additions to the cast, like Donna (Scarlett Spears), Amy (Risa Dorken), Curtis (Donnell Turner), and Terry (Cassandra James).
But the episode didn’t forget those GH has lost over its 62 years. Everyone stopped by the memorial wall to visit old friends like Bobbie (the late Jackie Zeman), Alan (the late Stuart Damon), Edward (the late John Ingle), Lila (the late Anna Lee), and Epiphany (the late Sonya Eddy).
Paging Dr. Monica Quartermaine
The reason so many beloved citizens of Port Charles were gathered at GH was to celebrate the opening of the Dr. Monica Quartermaine Cardiac Care Center, which doubled as a way of honoring the late Leslie Charleson, who passed away earlier this year and played Monica for nearly 50 years.
After Terry and Portia (Brook Kerr) made a beautiful speech about the former Chief of Staff, Laura had the privilege of unveiling the wing, which included the dedication to Monica for her several years of service to GH.
Time To Party!
Meanwhile, Lucy (Lynn Herring) arrived at Wyndemere to make a pitch to her new friend Sidwell (Carlo Rota). Presentation cards and all, Lucy revealed her plans for a 2025 Nurses Ball.
Sidwell offered to fund the entire ball, and in true soap fashion, when Lucy and Sidwell crashed the opening of the wing to announce his contribution,not didn’t sit right with several people in attendance, including Sonny and Laura.
