Anyone who has seen the sexually charged Fifty Shades of Grey will have noticed that there are plenty of nude scenes in the film, but most of them involve actress Dakota Johnson. Meanwhile, the male lead Jamie Dornan has almost no scenes where he is fully nude. But that could change with the sequel Fifty Shades Darker , and it is said that Dakota Johnson suggested it.
In Fifty Shades of Grey, we can see Dakota Johnson “showing off” her entire front, some half-naked scenes, and a lot of back-to-back nudity. Basically, the female star of the film was asked to strip all over, while the male star was given a little more favor. Jamie Dornan was only topless, with occasional back-to-back nudity, and there were also a few frontal nudity scenes, but only fleeting, which made many fans believe that this was unfair.
Dakota Johnson is currently promoting her comedy How to Be Single, which hits theaters on Valentine’s Day. Of course, during the interview, there were many questions about her co-star Jamie Dornan, especially whether there was a scene in Fifty Shades Darker where he was completely naked and exposed to the audience. Speaking to WatchWhatHappensLive, Dakota Johnson even boldly declared that she would love to see Jamie Dornan’s “private parts”.
She jokingly told host Andy Cohen when asked about the issue: “That’s an interesting question, I’m probably going to get in trouble for that. Yeah. I’m going to make him completely naked in the next movie. Everyone wants to see Jamie Dornan’s dick, right? Maybe we should start a movement, a campaign for that.”
The latest news related to Fifty Shades Darker has just been posted by Variety that actor Eric Johnson is in talks to play Jack Hyde, Christian Grey’s rival in the sequel to the global hit Fifty Shades of Grey. In the book, Jack Hyde is the new boss of Anastasia Steele, an editorial assistant, who falls in love with her and begins to pursue her, to the point that Christian Grey becomes annoyed. Jack Hyde will appear in both Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.
Eric Johnson appeared in the final two seasons of The Knick (Cinemax), where he played Dr. Everett Gallinger. His role in Fifty Shades Darker is his biggest film role to date.
Previously, Universal Pictures also officially announced that veteran star Kim Basinger has signed on to play Elena Lincoln in the film. This character was mentioned in Fifty Shades of Grey last year and will officially appear in this part. In the original novel by EL James, Elena Lincoln is Christian Grey’s (Jamie Dornan) business partner and ex-lover.
Fifty Shades of Grey was a hit when it debuted on Valentine’s Day last year, grossing $570 million worldwide from a $40 million budget, although it wasn’t without its problems behind the scenes. Original book author EL James clashed heavily with film adaptation director Sam Taylor-Johnson, leading to the filmmaker dropping out of the Fifty Shades Darker sequel and pulling screenwriter Kelly Marcel out with him. James Foley is now taking the helm of the sequel from a script by EL James’ husband Niall Leonard.
Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan have quickly become household names. They will return to reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele after receiving a massive pay increase. Rita Ora, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini are all joining the sequel. Luke Grimes plays Christian’s brother Elliot Grey, Eloise Mumford plays Anastasia Steele’s roommate Keta and Max Martini plays Christian Grey’s driver Taylor.
Fifty Shades Darker and the final film in the Fifty Shades trilogy, Fifty Shades Freed, will be shot back-to-back, with the second film hitting theaters on Valentine’s Day 2017 (February 10, 2017) and the third film hitting theaters on Valentine’s Day 2018. Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, along with trilogy author EL James, will produce both films.
