At this point, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to refer to writer/producer Taylor Sheridan as cable and streaming TV’s answer to Dick Wolf. With Yellowstone, 1883, and 1923, Sheridan has built up a Western-themed franchise on par with Wolf’s Chicago franchise. Part of the reason for the franchise’s success has been the way it’s attracted top-tier talent to the small screen, like Kevin Costner, Helen Mirren, and Harrison Ford. As one of the stars of 1923, Ford says he wishes he could figure out Sheridan’s secret formula for making those shows work
