I trained them when they came to Vancouver for a total of 5 months. I trained with Jamie Dornan 1-2 times/week and with Dakota Johnson 4 times/week.

I think Christian Grey is a businessman but has a lot of free time. In fact, Jamie used to practice by himself before so he himself is very close to what the producers imagined Christian Grey to be.

What specific moves and exercises did Coach Braganza instruct Johnson on?
Dakota is already pretty fit, so she doesn’t necessarily need to lose weight. She needs resistance training, so it needs to be done at the right time and intensity.
Normally when I’m tasked with coaching a lead actress I’ll use my traditional bodyweight training program but with Dakota I tweaked it to be lighter, no more than 5 pounds but with increased intensity and more reps.
Those weight exercises may not be light for some people, but if maintained over a long period of time, they will help build great muscles.
Her exercises are mainly for strengthening the body, such as walking planks or pilates-based abdominal exercises. Then there are leg exercises.
She did hot yoga twice a week, and strength training four times a week. Finally, she did a lot of cardio alone on the treadmill.
After five months of filming, when you’re exhausted, we have to have some fun ways to keep training. We have fun things like a punching bag and a pilates chair. If you can mix up different exercises, you’re challenging your body too. As long as you’re training at a good intensity in different forms, it works.
