Simone Biles had a request for her husband Jonathan Owens as they continued their honeymoon in South Africa.
The Olympic legend had been posting regular updates of her trip with the Chicago Bears safety, noting that it was something that had been in the works for years but just hadn’t materialized due to a variety of factors. Despite having to wait for years to embark on her honeymoon with Owens, she appeared to be having a great time in South Africa.
Because of how much she is enjoying her trip, Biles posted a cheeky message aimed at Owens. That said, the message and request came after the two spent time in an area with a beautiful vista overlooking a beach, with palm trees and an open stretch of land.
“Ugh, let’s just buy a house here,” Biles posted, seemingly hinting at what she wants to pursue after her professional career is complete. However, it remains to be seen if the two would go through with the plan of starting a life in South Africa once it is all said and done.
Regardless of what happens, it appears both Biles and Owens are enjoying their time exploring the wonders of the world. In particular, it seems as if the Olympic star crossed off a specific bucket list item by going on a safari with her husband, and tending to some animals in the wild.
“Bucket list ticked,” she wrote in an Instagram story of her trip. “We saw the Big 5 in our first two game drives, and we are extremely lucky. Seeing the leopard, lion, and elephant on our first game drives gave us confidence we’d see them all.”
As she continued to enjoy her time on vacation, perhaps the end of her professional career could be closer to coming to fruition. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Biles admitted that because of how accomplished she has been, there is almost nothing left for her to strive for.
“Because I’ve accomplished so much, there’s almost nothing left to do, rather than to just be snobby and to try again and for what?” the Olympian told the outlet. “I’m at a point in my career where I’m humble enough to know when to be done.”
That said, Biles revealed that she and Ownes have been pondering starting a family in the near future, though the two would like to accomplish their goals before settling down for good, though she didn’t elaborate on what those goals were.
“Me and Jonathan always talk about kids,” she continued. “He would have them, like, yesterday if he could have. Obviously, we both have goals that we want to achieve before we start a family. But yes, that’s definitely in our future.”
