Ashley told people she had split from her husband more than a year after it became “clear that our paths are no longer aligned”
Love Is Blind’s Tyler Francis has broken his silence following Ashley Adionser’s announcement that they have ended their marriage.
Ashley confirmed to PEOPLE on Jan. 22 that she and Tyler had “made the difficult decision” to split after more than a year of marriage, and her ex confirmed the news with his own statement on Jan. 23.
“As many of you may have seen, Ashley has shared the news of our decision to end our marriage. This has been an incredibly difficult and emotional process for both of us, and it is one we have approached with great care and respect for one another,” Tyler wrote in a post on his Instagram Stories.
“While our journey together began with so much hope and love, we came to realize that there were challenges we could not overcome,” he continued. “I take full accountability for my role in the difficulties we faced, and I respect Ashley’s decision to move forward in a way that prioritizes her peace and happiness.”
Tyler, who met Ashley on season 7 of Love Is Blind, said his ex is “an incredible woman” and that he has “nothing but admiration and gratitude for the love and support she has given me” during their time together.
“I ask for kindness and understanding as we both move forward separately, focusing on healing and growing,” he concluded his statement.
Ashley’s exclusive statement shared with PEOPLE revealed that the couple had been “separated for several weeks” before deciding to end their marriage.
“While I had hoped for mutual understanding and transparency in our relationship, it has become clear that our paths are no longer aligned, making it impossible for me to continue in this marriage.”
Ashley continued, “This was not a decision I made lightly, but one I know is necessary for my own growth and peace. While this chapter is ending, I will always hold respect for the time and love we shared. I kindly ask for privacy during this deeply personal time as I focus on healing and building a new future. Thank you for your understanding and support.”
Ashley and Tyler wed during the season 7 finale of the Netflix reality series, which aired in October 2024.
“You’ve showed me what love truly is. I promise to cherish every moment, support your dreams and embrace the beautiful unknown that lies ahead. With you, every day is a new chapter and I can’t wait to fill the pages of our love story together,” Tyler told Ashley at the altar.
She told him she felt like she was “living my own fairytale” and that he was her “soulmate” before they said “I do.”
“I’ve never felt a love this pure, yet fierce. I feel like we can do anything in life as long as we have each other,” Ashley said during the wedding.
The couple had their ups and downs during the season, though, as their early connection was challenged when Tyler told Ashley he was a sperm donor — and had three biological children.
While he said he had no relationship with them, he later admitted during the season 7 reunion that he had fathered a child for a friend, whose kid he then had a relationship with, but he said that his wife knew “all” of that already. “This is news to the world, but this has never been news to us,” he said.
