Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler 40 Years of Friendship and Unbreakable Bond

Although it is a “hotpot” of “Glass Onion”, “The Bullet Train”, “Crazy Rich Asians”… “Murder Mystery” part 2 still has the ability to make us sit for more than 1 hour to watch the juggling moments of two extremely experienced actors – Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston

Released at the end of March on Netflix, “Murder Mystery 2” is a 4-year sequel to the first part in 2019. The work follows the Spitz family, including husband and wife Nick (played by Adam Sandler) and Audrey (played by Jennifer Aniston) to solve (in both senses of the word) murder cases. As two amateurs who often get caught up in unexpected situations, they are of course the other perspective of Agatha Christie’s Inspector Hercule Poirot – amateurs, overconfident and lacking anything more than a sense of humor.

The film revolves around the kidnapping of a wealthy Maharajah on an island in India as he prepares to marry his French fiancé. Who and what is the motive behind it? Is it the sister who wants to take the family fortune? The wife because of prenuptial agreements, or the employees and friends under her command for different purposes? And how will the two Spitzes find out?

The huge success of season 1 when it was honored at the People’s Choice Awards for Comedy of the Year 2019, put even more pressure on season 2. With a somewhat large hiatus of up to 4 years, while the old cast of characters are still retained almost continuously, how will season 2 have to have a smooth transition, while still developing more progressively than the first season?

The development is similar to many recently released works when isolating the plot in a very specific place, the island where the Spitz family came to live is similar to the place where the “Glass Onion” case took place or the healing vacation of the female star Julia Robert in “Tickets to Paradise”… From there, the funny parts gradually revealed, with cultural differences as well as small details, but through the expressions of the two actors, everything that seemed the most normal caused great laughter.

The seemingly familiar comedy pieces such as homophones, building strange characters and personalities, as well as developments that happen very quickly and are surprisingly repetitive… although not too new, through the chemistry of the two actors, the “silliness” and “silliness” of this work have been preserved to the maximum. The difficulty is that both of them are too experienced, have tried countless challenges, so making people laugh with naivety or unpredictable incidents… requires something truly new and humorous to attract viewers.

So frankly speaking, the plot of this part 2 still cannot surpass the tightness of part 1, and the humor still cannot reach “We’re the Millers”… However, thanks to the chemistry between Aniston and Sandler, we forget everything, to sit and watch a funny story but also not lacking sad moments because of love and a marriage in crisis. At the age of 50, both actors put all their energy into their roles, so that we see them vividly and delicately.

“Murder Mystery 2” also brought beautiful scenes in terms of scenery. From the royal wedding parties in India with “Bollywood” dances, the crew also filmed the magnificence of the Eiffel Tower and extremely famous landmarks in France. Although the logic was still pushed too fast and quite simple, the supporting elements were invested in a worthy way, bringing beautiful and satisfying footage.

Friendship for decades

Having gone through many ups and downs in their personal lives as well as their acting careers, few couples have maintained their love for each other for as long as Aniston and Sandler. The two first starred together in the extremely famous “wedding crasher” “Just Go With It” in 2011, but the fact is that they met 20 years ago, in a now-defunct Hollywood diner.

They met as kids, Aniston said she met Sandler around the age of 14, while dating his friend, and couldn’t understand how the two artists got together. Sandler always talked about Aniston with eyes full of affection and trust in every conversation. Both of them often liked to create unreal stories just for fun, and they just did it, regardless of what others said, just to satisfy their own impulses.

After first meeting in Hollywood in the 1990s, the two have seen each other through thick and thin. While Aniston rose to stardom in the series “Friends” and her marriage to Brad Pitt fell apart, Sandler, who was also married at the time, saw everything in his beloved sister.

With an extremely talented actress like Aniston, we can see every emotion in the comedy roles she plays. “We’re the Millers” is the second collaboration between the two actors, but the chemistry in that work is completely captivating to fans. In the scenes near the end of the film, when Sandler hugs Aniston when the journey of transporting marijuana of 4 people who do not belong to each other has ended, when the real book cover is finally revealed… that moment is a love story that, although only in the movie, includes the sharing and care they have for each other in real life.

Sharing in the following programs, Aniston also revealed that she and the Sandlers often hang out together, they have a private place called “Magic Corner” because the sunset there is so beautiful. Being together and understanding each other, this may also explain why although their comedies are often somewhat familiar motifs, they are always a “fever” sweeping the box office, and a “legacy” when it comes to contemporary Hollywood comedies.

This statement has been proven when “Just Go With It” has brought in over 215 million USD worldwide. And if anyone asks what to watch on a tiring weekend or work day, the answer is always the movie of the above couple, because we will find a harmony and respect for each other.

Because of that, their products have gone beyond the sole goal of turning smiles into revenue, but through observations and understanding of personal life, we see in each smile there are tears, in each hug there are beautiful echoes, full of inspiration as well as gentleness.

Sandler recently won the Mark Twain Award for his comedy roles. On stage, Aniston and Drew Barrymore, an actress who has also worked with Sandler in many films, shared their own thoughts about the actor. Speaking about Sandler, Barrymore shared, “I see a charm and a talent in him. Most of what a movie, whether it’s a comedy or a romance, needs is chemistry that is real until the end. Both actors don’t need to be together, but they have to love each other so much to have those feelings.”

Among the few actors who have achieved fame and maintained their glory over the years, Jennifer Aniston is probably the one who has had the most “struggling” when she was single in her old age. However, in the works she has played, we always see a consolation, because of the great affection that her close friend has given her. The understanding and affection for each other have created a great couple, extremely harmonious in the films that have gone down in history.
