After 16 years since the movie ended, F.R.I.E.N.D.S is still ranked high in the most favorite TV shows in the US in particular and the world in general.
Once we start watching this series, it will somehow become our lives. We will feel connected to the characters, typically when we see ourselves in them. Maybe this is also what makes F.R.I.E.N.D.S successful and long-lasting. But there is another clear proof that the movie teaches us a lot about the life around us. Let’s take a little time to remember the moments of Friends!
1. Life is not always fair
It is easy to see that this is one of the only movies that is created without following any rules like fairy tales. All the main characters have to face many difficulties, ups and downs in life, but they never give up. The only thing that makes them stronger is nothing other than friendship – something we always need in life. It is great to have people we can trust and care for by our side.
2. It is never too late to start over
Typically, Rachel when she personally cut up her father’s credit card, gave up her luxurious life and started everything from scratch. Or Chandler when he decided to quit his job to pursue his passion. It is never too late, losing something does not necessarily mean losing life, it is just a stepping stone for us to move towards a new goal.
3. Be OK When Life Plans Don’t Go As We Expected
Remember the episode when Rachel said I’ve Got Magic Beans? That’s when she realized that even though she may not have the money, the successful life, or the husband her other rich friends had. She has something more valuable than all of that. Her real, weird, adorable friends.
4. How to Stay Happy Without Money
Joey was unemployed and broke for the first few seasons but he was always the happiest character on the show. Rachel, from daddy’s little princess to a waitress, still kept her cheerful spirit. Likewise, the other characters have also faced their worst but still got through it with a smile.
5. Breaking up is not the reason to die. Throughout 10 seasons, all 6 characters have broken up many times and gone through dozens of relationships. But in the end, they still found the true love of their lives. Typically, Chandler – Monica, the couple realized they loved each other when returning from London, after many ups and downs, they had a perfect wedding.
6. Don’t be ashamed to show your difference and uniqueness
Each character in the movie has different personalities, the special thing is that those personalities are all attractive in a new way, not as constrained as tradition. For example, Phoebe Buffay is a girl with personality, loves peace, likes to be a vegetarian and has a unique fashion sense. Chandler, a funny guy who is always afraid of the little things in life. Ross, a guy who loves dinosaurs, is cute and also a bit of a girl. Monica, a girl obsessed with cleanliness and tidiness. Rachel, the epitome of the 1990s badass woman. And Joey, the big guy with a child’s heart. Somehow, they all still endear us to them.
7. Never lose the child in you
The best example is probably Joey, who was cute throughout all 10 seasons. But Monica was also childish at times, and Rachel was so cute when she made the sound of a snowboard “swoop swoop swoop”.
8. Being single on the holidays is okay
Joey isn’t shown to have found love at the end of the movie, but he feels content. He may never love any girl more than he loves his friend. Some people aren’t just for love. His love for food has taken a place in his heart.
9. True Love Will Come Anyway
Do you know how lobsters find their way back to each other? How Phoebe and Mike got married after going through so many ups and downs in life together. Or Monica and Chandler, the most opposite and perfect couple who found love in the most unlikely of places. Love will come when you least expect it!
10. F.R.I.E.N.D.S is more important than anything else
Despite their many arguments, they stick together through the toughest times. They stop each other from making bad decisions or make bad decisions together. If you have people you can trust, life becomes a little less painful.
